Kids Lessons : Safety and Safeguarding

Lo is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students, and has put together the below for families in advance of, and throughout their child's coaching experience.

Lo has an enhanced DBS check, and more than 12 years experience of teaching students as young as 7 years old, in both group and one-on-one environments.

At a student's first lesson we kindly ask that the caregiver stays on site - and ideally sits in on the first half of the lesson - so we can all confidently agree that the child feels comfortable with Lo.

This time together will also help Lo understand the family's goals for the session(s).

Margate Queer Library is in the basement of the teaching venue, and caregivers are welcome to hang out in the reading room during lessons.

If caregivers decide to leave the premises and come back for pick up at future lessons, please note that pick up must be on time to not create delays in the rest of Lo's teaching schedule - thank you!

Margate Pride Art Piece

Lo's teaching space is in a room used by Margate Queer Library, and there is a community art piece hanging on the wall - created for Margate Pride.

Could caregivers please have a look at the piece and let me know in advance if they have any concerns about the artistically interpreted body parts in the piece?

Emergency Protocol

In case of any type of emergency, Lo commits to immediately getting the caregiver if on site.

If not on site, she will make a judgment call on whether the first call should be to the caregiver, or emergency services. Lo will provide whatever care she can, and keep the student with her until a caregiver arrives.
